BNL Round 3 (Regular Season): L.Pride lose their first game against Rhinos

What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Pride (1-1) in Limpopo on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Rhinos (3-0) 68-53. M.Rhinos forced 21 L.Pride turnovers and outrebounded them 58-43 including a 46-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by L.Pride helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for guard Vusi Sibeko (-1991) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 19 rebounds. Swingman Kwazi Gumede (191-1997) helped adding 16 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was swingman Ernest Masimini with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.





S.Panthers - L.Pride 56-59

Very significant was L.Pride's (#2) just 3-point road victory against S.Panthers. S.Panthers were very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Pride forced 25 Panthers turnovers and outrebounded them 60-48 including a 42-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Panthers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Prince Dube (200-1999) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Khomanani Makamu accounted for 12 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. Four Pride players scored in double figures. Rodlam Elbur came up with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and Swazi swingman Thandokuhle Kunene (195-1990) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Panthers in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
